Grace Ogot (1930-2015) was a Kenyan author, nurse, journalist, politician and diplomat. In 1975 she worked as a Kenyan delegate to the general assembly of the United Nations. In 1983 she was one in a small number of women to serve as a member of parliament.
The Maasai people of Kenya have for centuries herded goats as a source of meat, milk and income.
